Sports Thread #3 For 6/4/10: Danny Ferry Is Gone From Cleveland

Not his fault at all that he finally made the moves. But it surely was not enough for Dan Gilbert* in their quest to keep LeBron:
Danny Ferry resigned Friday as general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers after five seasons.

Ferry's departure comes two weeks after the club fired coach Mike Brown following the team's second-round loss to the Boston Celtics in the NBA playoffs.

The team said assistant GM Chris Grant will take over for Ferry, 43, who was in the final month of his contract.
And that is what it is.

* Update: Just caught this just now, before the great Peter Rothberg gave me the needed shoutout, and somehow wrote bench gunner Dan Gibson instead of owner Dan Gilbert. Goodness gracious indeed. Properly fixed.
