It really was terrific to see Jimmy Carter's grandson, James the 4, get something sweet for his grandfather.

Now whatever one thinks of Carter's foreign policy record, which was slightly to the left of Obama but kept a centrist Democratic position of overall United States imperialism in tact, is completely different from the constant disrespect he receives from conservatives and a lot of other people in general.

Jimmy Carter's name gets dragged in the mud so bad, you would think he was a dog or pig rolling in dirt every single day instead of a President, who in his political afterlife has at least tried to support voices of the downtrodden and been so respectful.

Jimmy Carter can't even get a picture with Bill Clinton or Barack Obama nowadays because he just isn't considered cool and politically stable enough to be in a picture? That last sentence truly shows the vapidness of our American country, although there are many other examples.

Now why is Carter treated like such a "loser" when Reagan's half-truths and blatant phoniness was championed? We all know the answer now, and Carter and many Democrats knew it then to in 1980 (his problems with Ted Kennedy aside).

Carter has barely gotten on television after his days of president, especially as the 90's rolled on. I can't think of any modern president that has suffered the disrespect that Carter has received from mainstream/traditional news sources.

That lack of revere for Carter has been facilitated of course by the right's asinine demeanor towards him, with Mitt Romney the latest stool pigeon for ridiculous and cliche' Carter jokes.

But Carter's grandson made sure that Romney and all Republicans would be the total jokes in the end. Amazing how the karma game can work when it reveals itself publicly.

Amazing how karma can give the underdog the last laugh at the end.
