AFL-CIO Drops Lincoln, Commits $3 Mill To Halter

This broke late tonight, as the momentum from the base for Bill Halter grows.

Add Richard Trumka and crew to those glad that he wants to make Lobbyist Lincoln go to real full time job.
A labor source confirmed to TPMDC tonight that the AFL-CIO voted to back new Senate candidate Lt. Gov Bill Halter over Sen. Blanche Lincoln in the May 18 Democratic primary in Arkansas. Three unions within the umbrella group have committed to a $3 million independent expenditure on Halter's behalf.

All day long, the Rational Online Community has poured in the obvious support since the great news well back at the crack of dawn. And in the night time stage of this 1st day of March, the big unions are ready to going in on the fight against the establishment, which includes the White House.

They, like everyone else, are sick of Lincoln:
The backing of the AFL-CIO is an important one for any Democrat. For Halter, it signals that the unions are prepared to put their money where their mouth has been for almost a year now when it comes to Lincoln. When Lincoln came out against the "card check" provision in the Employee Free Choice Act, unions balked and threatened to fight her. Now it seems Halter has given them their chance.
I guess Lincoln will now consider the AFL-CIO "extremists" with their decision that she knew all along was coming to her.

Seeing someone being dumped isn't always a pleasant sight.

But in this case, I know I am not the only one who doesn't mind at all seeing Lincoln get dumped. And it will be lovely if the Democratic voters in her state dump her like the AFL-CIO did today.

And it will be certainly lovely if she gets dumped out of the Senate by Mr.Halter.
