Update: This is actually the second earthquake China had today, although the first one no one probably felt:
A powerful earthquake rocked China's southern Qinghai province on Wednesday morning, seismologists said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

The 7.1-magnitude earthquake at 7.49 a.m. local time was centered about 236 miles (380 kilometers) south-southeast of the city of Goldmud, or 149 miles (239 kilometers) north-northwest of Qamdo in Tibet. It struck about 20.5 miles (33 kilometers) deep, making it a shallow earthquake, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

There was no immediate word on damage or casualties from the earthquake.
Hours before the 6.9-magnitude earthquake, a moderate 5.0-magnitude earthquake rattled the same area.

Update 2: Now Rodrigo is reported that there have been buildings at the epicenter that have collapse because of the earthquake, which is unsurprisingly considering how massive this quake was.

Update 3: There has been damage and sadly some casualties in China to report folks. And there has been heavy aftershocks as well.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, approximately 100 people were exposed to 'extreme' shaking, which may result in 'very heavy' damage to vulnerable structures. Some 3,000 others perceived 'violent' shaking, while 5,000 more were exposed to 'severe' shaking.

"Overall, the population in this region resides in structures that are highly vulnerable to earthquake shaking, though some resistant structures exist," the U.S. Geological Survey said.

A spokesman for the Qinghai Provincial Seismological Bureau told Chinese state media that some houses in the region near the epicenter had collapsed. Witnesses and residents said there were casualties, but a number was not immediately available.

"I saw the roof of a Buddhist pagoda in a park collapsed," said Karsum Nyima, the deputy director of the Yushu TV News Department. "The houses here are almost all made of wood and earthen walls. Some collapsed when the quake happened," he said.

Update 4: Prayers to the family that had to lose a lover one, as at least one has perished in this earthquake, while many others are currently buried.

Update 5: This is turning into a massive disaster in China golks....Now 67 have been reported dead after it was bumped up to 23 dead.

To Tevin......Goodnight and God bless to all:
