12/12-14/08:TWD's Agenda For The Weekend, Part 1:The Weekend Runthrough
Great apologies to all you readers of TWD.
The site went hiatus yesterday and most of today because of finals coming my way, but here is the full latest important run through for those who haven't been on the Rational Online News Network of Networks.
Stupido Blago may finally (or may not) reign Monday. But the former looks to be, thankfully, the case.
Match point now for Al Franken in the still ongoing Minnesota Senate race?
In a press briefing just now, a very exuberant Franken campaign put forward a clear message about today's big news that the wrongly-rejected absentee ballots can be counted, which the Coleman campaign is trying to halt by going to court: Norm Coleman is desperate, because he knows he's going to lose.
The shift in tone from the Franken camp, compared to their more defensive posture in previous calls, reflects just how suddenly the dynamics of the race have shifted in his favor today.
Franken's lead recount lawyer Marc Elias said to not believe the Coleman camp's spin that they're not trying to stop the vote count. "But just read the papers that they file when they file them, and don't look past what they file," he said. "They are seeking an injunction, they are seeking to stop counties from counting lawful ballots."
In sports, another weird, unexpected, and downright stupid firing in the NBA so far. The Sixers have decided to fire Maurice Cheeks. Firing the coach who somehow manage to have the franchise stay relevant in the not too distant post Allen Iverson era? Then again, if not to long ago Coach of the Year Sam Mitchell could get pink slipped by the Raptors, Cheeks' expulsion shouldn't come as a shock in the insanity of NBA standards this year.
And on an important piece of news for this website, The Whole Delivery has decided to merge all the three days of the weekend into a full agenda from now on out. Friday will have its usual routine of Flashback videos and "The Cinema", while Saturday will feature it's cartoon throwback thread, sometimes done on Sundays, and sometimes done the following day.
With that being said, enjoy the rest of your weekend. And for my fellow college students, enjoy studying for finals (if that is even possible).
