7/21/09: TWD's Agenda For The Day, A Special "Reel Feel": Sickening
Lying commercials like this one make me angry. Very angry.
It just shows how dishonest and sickening, categorically sickening, those who want to hault health care reform in this country really are.
This ad, just like the one's in the 90's, and all throughout history, are the perfect exhibit at seeing the irrational and uncaring advocates of our ludicrous health care system we have in America now. They will stop at nothing to dispense aspersions galore, all over your televisions screen, all over your desktops or laptops, and even all over your phone.
"Teh scary Canadian health care."
Hell, I'm shocked that they haven't even embarked on a "Scary British Health Care" commercial or, even worse, "TEH SCARIER FRENCH HEALTH CARE" ad.
You know, it has been proven time and time again, and shown by economists and just fully rational people in general, that single payer would be the ultimate difference maker for our economy, let alone greatly improving our domestic moral standing.
But with how still greatly misinformed the public is by the news media, if Obama and the true progressive Democrats went full tilt on single payer and single payer alone, could you imagine how ugly it would get in this country? With loons like this PatientsUnitedNow.com group firing up the fringes on "the right" with these commercials, as well as insurance companies adding conflagrations to an already inflammable situation, I fear the worst of the worst would happen if single payer was even came to passing.
The fighting would be so extreme that something serious would happen in my view, because people are so horribly not in the know nowadays, that some will think this is an ultimate government takeover of such epic proportions.
You've seen the whole damn thing with guns and the Second Amendment, and all the problems in the last two years that have arisen from it (and of course, much longer) ?
"Government is taking over my right to have guns. Obama and those socialists are destroying America." Delusional and dangerous are these individuals, having no brains to search for the absolute truth right in their facades.
Instead, they become American's own terrorists.
If that is the damage based off the ridiculously lies about Obama's views on the Second Amendment, I shudder to think what would happen if single payer did get passed like it should in this country.
Just look at that idiot "Uncle Tom" Steele say his crap yesterday. Sorry if that offended some, but to me, it's the truth. And that is just to have a good public option in the final version of the bill.
Replace public option with single payer and shoot, my last word before the comma in this sentence will really be the action I fear.
And one final point: It just amazes me how a political radio talk show host (Ed Schultz) can talk about single payer for a multitudinous amount of times, but a doctor, a doctor, in Nancy Snyderman, hasn't talked about it or done a report about it at all. And blatantly ignored it in my view for what I have been able to see. Hell, she advocated last week to tax health care benefits.
Yup, that was on her mind more than actually getting everyone health care in this country. Shilling for the insurance companies was the latest doctor to get a TV show.
Sickening.
But that's the painful reality we live in. When we let mendacious ads and people try their hardest to prevent fiscally common sense from happening, as well as a moral good.
