Sports Thread #2 For 7/18/09: The Runthrough

Lots of other great things besides The British Open of course in the sports world.

Lance Armstrong may not be the number one American at the tour de France this tear after all, because the accomplished rider that is George Hincapie is making his move by passing him in the standings to go into second, while Armstrong is fourth now. And another bizarre day leads to one fan getting kicked after getting run over in the street by a cop motorcycle.

Great pitchers duel between CC Sabathia and Justin Verlander today in the Yankees 2-1 win over the Tigers. And once again, Joel Zumaya, the hardest thrower in baseball in many people's eyes, is hurt again. I really hope he gets back, because he is an absolute spectacle to watch when he's at full strength. No one throws 103 and 104 mphs like he does.

Emmanuel Adebayor has decided the money is more important at Manchester City than it is at Arsenal. Another big move indeed in soccer.

And speaking of potential big moves, if Lamar Odom leaves the Lakers for the Heat, Kobe will be angry and Dwayne Wade will be a very happy man.

That's the sports thread for the night......peace.
