TWD Condolences And Sports Thread #2 For 11/24/09: Washington Wizards Owner Abe Pollin Passes Away Today At 85

One of the long time and throwback owners in the sports world, for both the Wizards and the Capitals, has passed away at 85 years of age with a rare brain disease.

And Pollin was generous individual in the nation's capital
He was also a major philanthropist in the community, paying for affordable housing and endowing a local Boy's and Girl's Club. His grandest project was building the MCI Center (now Verizon Center) in 1997 and triggering a stunning renaissance of Gallery Place and surrounding neighborhoods.
The Whole Delivery sends its condolences to him, his family, his friends, and the organizations of the teams he owned.
