5/22/09- TWD's Agenda For The Day: Puppet of the Year

Never would I have thought that I would be calling for the presence of Meghan McCain (still pissed her father didn't win) or think that she isn't as annoying as she always is.

Because Liz Cheney clearly makes her feel tolerable.

The field of journalism and the sense of justice has been damaged again just with the mere presence of her not only on television, but the lamest interviews conducted with her. It really does say something when Norah O'Donnell of all hack journalists gives the strongest interview to this nutcase of a legacy defender (though Anderson Cooper really stumped her with this one last night, I'll give him that.)

Yesterday, after her father was spewing his acerbic poison, this pathetic session done by Chuck Todd (continuing to eviscerate any good moments of him during last year's primary season) gives more ammunition to combating those still willingly to believe that the media is fully liberal.

Todd mentions the now dubious Pentagon report that was the NY Times front page story on how reportedly 14% of Gitmo detainees have "returned to war" as a question to Lizzy Liz, and that was his hardest question.

That's it. And it really wasn't worth a damn, as Liz does what her father does best: get their BS out at any cost.

There was no pushback from Todd, no mentioning of how illegal the practices were towards her, no skepticism in regards to her father still linking 9/11 with Iraq, and not even a mentioning of calling what these horrid techniques were: torture. Not one time at all.

But Todd should be given an Emmy Award compared to what was offered up by Zbingew Brzezinski's daughter this morning. With this exception of Donny Deutsch trying to provided some reality to the set, this following video may drive you to the point of breaking your computer. If you don't want to watch it, I'll provide these great muckraking moments for you right below.

You down here now? Good. Here's an example of what Mika Meekness said in this session:
"We have linking the debate almost to as impossible as to the abortion debate."
And
"Everyone is hampered because the information isn't out there."
And finally, this golden one...
What does it tell you when a former Vice President months after a new Administration takes over comes out and forcefully says that,'We're headed in the wrong direction....and we're less safe now,' that's huge!"
It would be highly offensive to the phrase "soft ball questions" and pandering statements to label those asked by Mika Meekness this morning to Daddy's little girl Cheney. "Wuffle ball" and "Literal behind kissing" is the proper representation for what was bestowed to the Puppet of the Year for 2009.

So sad. But hey, that's Mourning Joke for you. And in general, outside of a brave few, that is our entire American news media for you. Willing puppets providing a platform for the truest of ventriloquists creations.

Cenk Uygar provided the perfect answer that these shows won't provide to the Puppet of the Year on May 12:

Puppets are generally always soft. And for the Puppet of the Year for 2009 (and we haven't even finished the fifth month of the year for goodness sake) she needed to be around follow willing puppets in order to let her display how she's wrapped up this award so early.

(By the way, if someone is able to come up with Chuck Hagel interview with Andrea Mitchell just now, please hit me up on that one. It truly is a wonderful smackdown of epic proportions.)

Update: And I got my wish:
