Sports Thread #1 For 9/22/09: The Quick Runthrough

Can someone give Mississippi's Jevan Snead some loveDelonte West's father said last week's three guns on his motorcycle thing was all about self-protection. If that was all about self-protection, then I would hate to see what revenge would look like for him?
An army tank and a cannon? Maybe so.
When did Barry Zito all of a sudden matter again?
Yeah, it would be so great if Mark Sanchez could throw the ball to Michael Crabtree, wouldn't it?
I guess no one is talking about their NHL fantasy draft. Tough.
And people talk about the West Coast getting no love. As Jahvid Best screams up to the top of the Heisman race (or he should be at the top), Jevan Snead still gets overlooked here.
By the way, people forget that Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing is pretty damn good still.
The Yankees-Dodgers dream World Series is sadly looking shaky at the moment on the Dodgers end. Chad Billingsley most pitch better for them if they have any shot at beating a Cardinals team clearly on the ascendancy in the second half of the year.
By the way, with their arms, the Tigers I would rather face the least for the Yanks than even their proverbial boogeyman, the Angeles. Especially if somehow, someway, Joel Zumaya comes back for them.
Yup, first race of the Sprint Cup "playoffs" has started, and I don't miss Kyle Busch not being apart of it. I know his ego does though.
And via the Sports Nation people, this fan kicking this ball into goal in the Moscow Derby on Sunday was just so great and enjoyable:
Normally, any fan running out of the stands, to me, isn't a funny situation (just ask Monica Seles and Roger Federer about that).
More to come in the second sports thread, whatever and whenever that is.
