The 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread #3/Sports Thread #4 For 6/15/10: Brazil Hold On Against Fearless Brave North Korea
Well I guess the ruthless dictator will like that headline despite his country losing, but let's keep the sad politics out for now:
Well, my halftime analysis turned out to be true, outside of a great goal by Ji Yun Nam that made things terrifically interesting in the last few minutes.
Nothing else really to add other than the "Group of Death", Group G, is truly a...........Group of Death. On their form today, I really do believe Portugal could have a long, long day against this well organized and really technically sound North Korea team. Diligent teams like this that are structured really do give Portugal problems, especially without Nani being there to help Ronaldo and maybe, maybe, Simao.
This was a fascinating contest just as much as the opener with South Africa and Mexico.
And the Man of the Match, this man with the strike that everyone is questioning...."Did he really mean it or not?"

1st half analysis:
Um, wow.
What a masterclass of defending from North Korea in that 1st half. Chol Jin, Nam Chol, and Jun Il have been marvelous in the center, and what can you say about Kim Jong, I mean, Kim Jong Hun's tactics so far.
Seriously, people have got to give North Korea the credit here in the 1st half. Just a marvelous effort here that no one expected from them despite how structured they were in qualifiers and in the run up towards this Cup.
The pressure will just continue to build here, but I think Brazil will make the proper adjust at halftime like they did against the U.S. last year. Dunga is that good of a coach.
