Sports Thread #1 For 8/15/09: The Return Of The Barclays Premier League (Multiple Updates All Day Long)

Well, the "most exciting league" in the world returns (though La Liga is the best league in the world) with another glorious season of football (soccer) in store for the millions and millions of masses around the world.

It has already been an action packed opening afternoon around the country in England, with terrific goals and surprising dominance by almost all the road teams.

One of those road teams were Hull, and they almost picked off an impressive point on the road against title contenders Chelsea. But the brilliance of Didier Drogba prevented that, with two fabolous goals to break the backs of the Hull supporters in a great 2-1 Chelsea win.

And also, the love for the legend that was Sir Bobby Robson has been so hurt felt today throughout the country.

It was the perfect opener to Manchester City's season today, as Mark Hughes beat his old side Blackburn 2-0 off of goals from one of his new much ballyhooed Emmanuel Adebayor and last year's club Player of the Year Stephen Ireland. Ireland's goal was indeed a clever cheeky one just like the player he is.

The Cinema Numbers Review For 3/29/10: A Dragon Is Preferred Over The Hubtub

The best movie of 2010 is deserving the big winner of the weekend. I guess those higher prices for 3-D helps in the money being large of course. "How To Train Your Dragon" grossed $43 million in week one, and the high acclaims for this outstanding movie have now stopped. If you didn't love this movie, then you should not only be banned from writing any more movie reviews ever again, but from writing all things in general. Meanwhile for Hot Tub Time Machine, it banked in a disappointing $13 million and a third place finish. It couldn't beat three week old Alice in Wonderland, as that juggernaut took home $17 million more.
