9/3/09: TWD's Agenda For The Day- President Snowe Continuing Her Tenure

Health care is currently in her and her insurance lobbyists hands. Lovely.

President Obama and top aides have quietly stepped up talks with moderate Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine on a scaled-back health care bill, according to two sources familiar with the negotiations.

The compromise plan would lack a government-run public health insurance option favored by Obama, but would leave the door open to adding that provision down the road under an idea proposed by Snowe, the sources said.

One of the sources said White House officials are "deep in conversations" with Snowe on a much smaller health care bill than Obama originally envisioned.

Snowe is pivotal to the debate because she may be Obama's last possibility for getting a Republican senator to support his push for a health care overhaul.

HAHAHA, Snowne is pivotal because she is potentially the last Republican Senator he'll have to back him.

Once again, the most irrelevant minority party in American history reigns supreme. You don't need any single Republican to pass this bill, but yet Snowe is his last chance at getting one crucial Republican backing.

President Olympia Snowe, you are our nation's 45th President. May we have your inauguration tomorrow. I'm sure John Roberts won't forget his words and screw up the oath with you.

And I'm sure the insurance lobbyists will play for all of your inauguration balls as well, with all of Washington DC and the nation in full felicitation at your sudden Presidency.
