Um, how the hell did this happen in training ?
Portugal suffered a major injury blow today after it was announced winger Nani would play no part in the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ after damaging his collar bone.

The Manchester United star is thought to have suffered the injury in training on Friday and will be replaced in the squad by Benfica midfielder Ruben Amorim. Nani's absence will disrupt the plans of Portugal boss Carlos Queiroz, who was counting on the 23-year-old following an impressive season at Old Trafford.

A statement on the Portuguese Football Federation's official website read: "Following the injury to the left clavicle suffered by Nani, a daily assessment of the damage and the completion of medical tests, we have concluded he is unable to be competitive.
Seriously in training? In training? With their match in a week's time? Just so damn stupid from Queiroz to have this happen on his watch.

But nevertheless, injuries are apart of the sport and all. This is a massive blow to Portugal considering that since the rapid fall of Ricardo Quaresma to irrelevance, Nani has become that number 2 winger after Ronaldo on that team after breaking through with United this season. And to lose him, especially with still no one leading the line at forward is a massive blow to Portugal.

Especially with Didier Drogba potentially able to play for the Ivory Coast now.

The Cinema For 8/20/10: Only The Nanny Serves The Good Stuff This Week

It's Friday, that means it's "The Cinema" time: Without a doubt, the best movie this week is the enjoyable Emma Thompson improving on the first version of Nanny McPhee with "Nanny McPhee Returns!" It is another delight for the kids and adults from a class actress in a fun role. Roger Moore of the Orlando Sentinel hopes there is another return for this nanny : But this is a most welcome return, a sequel that rises from the “world of poo” of its setting and tickles and warms the heart.
