The Next Talking Point That Needs To Be Stop Now

With their aspersions and hypocrisy about the Bush Administration trying terrorists in civilian courts exposed, the next talking point being developed by the nutty fringe is one that requires to be put to bed as soon as possible. Because it will be regurgitated on and on by the idiot comedian channel.

After Gingrich further sullied his already diminished self last night (Jon Stewart, why the hell do you continue having him on to lie right in your face?) by labeling Brit Richard Reid "an American", the new talking point to try and deny our nation at upholding to our Constitution was presented by another delusional nutcase.

Monica Crowley somehow thought it was a great way to combat the continued momentum of why Mirandizing rights is the right and only way to go by uttering that military tribunals practiced by this country somehow have been born in recent times.

Thankfully, Crooks and Liars' David Neiwert was on Crowley's usual insanity , and provides an important response.

First, watch what Crowley says (and give thanks to Julian Epstein, though I wonder why he even choses to be present on that clown channel, knowing that he would have to deal with outrageous remarks.)

As Neiwert states, Epstein was clearly the one in reality.
In fact, as Julian Epstein points out, military tribunals have been around in the United States a long time -- in fact, they've existed since the Revolutionary War. Moreover, the Supreme Court long ago set the precedent, in Ex parte Milligan (1866), that military tribunals used to try civilians in any jurisdiction where the civil courts were functioning were unconstitutional.

Crowley cannot even claim that she actually meant that Guantanamo Bay, where terrorism suspects bound for military tribunals have been held since 9/11, was not operating. In fact, terrorism detainees began arriving there on October 7, 2001, more than two months before Reid's arrest on December 22.
So make sure, when you hear that Sean Insanity or any other dummy mention that tribunals didn't exist when Reid was allowed his Miranda rights (despite being an immigrant), you'll be able to laugh at them with full conviction instead of just feeling angry at seeing their latest disturbing anecdotes of myths.
