Music Thread #1 For 3/15/10: The Runthrough

Great interview with Chuck D 20 years after the release of of Public Enemy's "Fear of a Black Planet."

Chris Brown begging for support is really kind of pathetic:
“It won’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have support from people who give me an artist outlet,” Brown said. “I can’t be an underground mixture artist.”
He's concerned about his album sales with how poor Graffiti is doing, but he needs to understand that releasing an album so soon after "the incident" was a stupid move. And "I can't be an underground mixtape artist?"

That comment is worthy of someone giving him an "STFU" (we should all know by now what that means), no question.

Sometimes the paparazzi may get hurt, and that was the case with this individual having 50 Cent's bodyguard almost destroy him in Denmark. The bodyguard was arrested.

And thanks to how horrible his album sales are for "Before I Self Destruct", Curtis is in the studio making songs now for his next album "Black magic." I wonder how bad that will sell too? Especially since he's basing it off a European dance vibe.

For some non-urban music news, the rock group named Coheed and Cambria have a fun new video for their song "The Broken" if you want to see it.

And as Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana release the expectedly cliche "Beamer, Benz & Bentley" video, Joell Ortiz releases the much funnier and better version "Nissa, Honda, Chevy's" video:

As one person so perfectly said about the "Banks/Santana" trash:
This video is exactly what I thought it would be. Cars, crew and cunts. typical
Couldn't say that any better.

Your first music thread of the day.
