Sports Thread #1 For 3/17/10: Ron Washington Tests Positive For Cocaine

One of the best managers in all of baseball takes blame in a special report from Sports Illustrated:

"I did make a mistake and I regret that I did it," Washington told SI.com by phone from Surprise, Ariz., on Tuesday night. "I am really embarrassed and I am really sorry."

For me, since this is the first time he did it and got the counseling and all, it's not that much of a big deal. Only the headlines of him doing cocaine make this story so newsworthy that it's even trending on Twitter.

It's over and done, and Washington can go back into thinking about how he can lead the Rangers to their first postseason in a long long time.
