It was another enthralling night in the Round of 16 2nd leg stage of the Champions League, and it featured terrific road performances by Inter Milan and CSKA Moscow to garner well deserved places in the final 8.

It was the dream return to Stamford Bridge for Jose Mourinho, as an immaculate performance by both his backline and Wesley Snejder, coupled with Samuel Eto'o scoring the match's only goal spurred the Italian Champions pass Chelsea 1-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate.

Carlo Ancelotti's team could not break down the outfit placed out by "The Special One", as Mourinho first visit to his last coaching job produce his team to deliver him the post-match accolades forthcoming to him.

It seemed Inter would pay for the several chances they got throughout the tight but exciting encounter. From Eto'o to Diego Milito not capitalizing on the rare moments of space Chelsea allowed them, there was a feeling that Chelsea would capitalize on those misses.

But outside of a dominant end to the first half, the Blues could not bring down the outstanding quarter of Zanetti, Maicon, Lucio, and Samuel. The defense of the Serie A leaders was stout with great positioning and timely blocks from dangerous Chelsea shots.

And in moment where Snejder provided another brilliant ball, Eto'o reverted back to the form that made Mourinho swap him for Zlatan Ibrahamovic over last summer by scoring the clinching goal in the 78th minute pass Ross Turnball to decide the tie. The Cameroon celebration to the Inter supporters while the rest of Stamford Bridge stayed quiet was the second symbol of the night.

The only other image topping it was seeing a restrain but still jubilant Mourinho knowing that even he couldn't have written the novel better for this night.

However, the script may have been even more sweeter for CSKA Moscow, as the Russian club also went on the road and scored a memorable victory over a slightly favorite Sevilla side 2-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate. Japanese import scored the deciding goal of the game and the series with his free kick blast that goalkepper Andres Palop will have nightmares about.
