Sports Thread #1 For 8/11/10: The Runthrough

In case you still didn't see it yet (despite it being almost 24 hrs), here is the Cardinals and the Reds brawl:

It was even worse for the Reds, as Alan Wainwright and a Colby Rasmus Grand Slam today help give the Cards a satisfying sweep in Cincinnati .

Javier Hernandez just keeps on going and going. The legend of Chicharito grows.

By the way, Steven Gerrard had one of his best half performances today for England, scoring two wonderful goals, after Frank Lampard was subbed out.

If only Sven Goran Erickson made that obviously decision some 5 years ago that Gerrard plays better without Lampard being in his way, maybe history would be different for England over the years.

It's great to see David Nalbandian back to playing the tennis that should have garnered him multiple Grand Slams instead of the 0 he actually has. If you somehow didn't label him just so yet, he is clearly the most dangerous man for the rest of August and the US Open.

No one wants to play him. Even Nadal too.

Thank goodness FIFA is looking into the mess that is North Korea soccer and the possible harsh treatment of its players and coaches.

It's gotten so bad for the Florida Panthers that they are now letting fans decide their ticket pricing.

Hard Knocks debuts tonight on HBO, featuring the absence shadow that is Revis Island!

"Whether we were in America"

It doesn't guarantee them a place to live.....some of these folks will always be on the wait list. It may work out for the best .

Ron Mutts...."Waiting list could go on for years and years."
