Late start to the day for me, which has been the case thanks to school stuff as always.

As we all know by now, the smear master, Saxby Chambliss, held his Senate seat with ease last night, thumping Jim Martin as turnout was terrible in Georgia last night.

In today's Daily Kos Midday News Thread, the 43rd President is blaming the 41st one.

Bush Jr. is now blaming his father for the nation's economic ills. Those guys crack me up when they talk about "personal responsibility".

Obama announces Richardson as Commerce secretary, as long, long expected.

Read this about the controversy over the salary of the new Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton. (Though it's not "OMG" news though.)

This administration still won't label their pathetic job with the economy, a "recession."


In sports, and I will talk more about this later, Antonio Pierce isn't out of the woods yet in regards to hiding the gun of Plaxcio Burress on Friday. Charlie Weis better not have another terrible year next season, or he will surly get fired 12 months from time. And the royal idiot that is Sean Avery at least had to make some chuckle when he said this:

"I'm really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada," the Ontario native said. "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about, but enjoy the game tonight." He then walked out of the locker room.
