The Fun Thread/The Music Notes Thread #1 For 12/3/12: Best Rick Rolled Ever

If I ever have the strength and time to write it, more on X-Factor and why I even give a damn about it still so much later on in the week.

But first, who knew Rick Rolled could be made into a new likable version? That is what Paige Thomas did last Wednesday in one X-Factor US's Season 2 best live show performances last Wednesday, only to get the lowest votes and be eliminated by Americans voting instead for lesser talent (see Cece Frey, who I like a lot, but really should have left three weeks ago at least).

This was Thomas finding herself as the artist that she needed be, which was herself. And that is the requirement for any music artist who wants to have any meaningful success in that profession.

And even though the X-Factor voters stupidity got it wrong again, as our taste in music in America is quite terrible in music judgement where unless you are a singer with great vocal range we can't analyze other talent properly and favor the vain things first (i.e. looks, race, etc), hopefully she can make tracks like this and not be wrongly overproduced like Lovato had her in the previous weeks.

Also, it really was quite idiotic for people to keep on saying she was trying to be or resembled Rihanna, when she is a completely different person. She's a mom for goodness sake. Rihanna didn't have a kid as a middle to late teen last time I checked.
