Well, What Do You Know

As the STUPID, insulting, and arguably racist nutcases continue to yell at the plan of a mosque potentially be placed near Ground Zero, an interesting tidbit has emerged from under the surface.

A mosque is already near Ground Zero. In fact, it has been down there for at least three decades.

From the Pensito Review , check this out from the website of that exact mosque that barely anyone knew about:
Since 1970, Masjid Manhattan has been a peaceful, not-for-profit organization located in the area of downtown Manhattan. Our members are City, State and Federal employees, as well as professional employees of the Financial area who come to our Masjid to perform their daily prayers.

What is both hilarious and quite sad at the same time is this "Masjid" had to put this disclaimer up as this story has grown in attention (click to enlarge if need be):
And can you blame them for putting that up on their site?

It won't stop the insane crowd on the other end, probably leading them to say "See, we don't need another one of them!"

They'll continue blustering how this is a blow to America and another victory to the terrorist, furthering displaying how they are about divide than unify.

And what is even more laughable about this latest view of conservative stupidity is the fact that they are intruding on people's choice. Oh my, look at them not following their own core beliefs again, what a surprise!

The only people's thoughts who matter on this whole discussion are the ones who live here in NYC around that area. And by a resounding vote, they seem to not at all be troubled at the thought of another mosque:
I don’t know how familiar you are with how zoning works in New York and the role that community boards play in that process, but let me tell you, to have a community board agree 29-1 on ANY land use issue is quite an accomplishment. Furthermore, why is land use in New York City the business of anyone else but the citizens of New York? If so, I would really like to know Sarah Palin’s opinion of the Atlantic Yards (or Hudson Yards or the expansion of Columbia University) project, an issue that is 1,000,000x more controversial than this project. That’s all this is: a land use issue.
For any community board in this city to get more than 65 to 70% consensus on something built here is an underrated feat. But to have an almost perfect vote (I sure would love to find out who that one person was was) on this issue....amazing.

But it is a stat that "Ms. Refudiate" and Sean Insanity won't bring up in their continued crusade against anything relating to Islam.
