The Gravel #2 For 7/8/10: It's Always Involuntary Manslaughter

Johannes Mehserle, the police officer who shot and killed Oscar Grant on New Year's Day, has been just "involuntary mansluaghter" as the charge, with a maximum of four years coming from the charge.

But Mehserle could face just two years in prison based on certain conditions.

On August 6, the court will talk about the full sentencing then, but it could have been much much more worse for the officer.

And for the family of Grant, they are very disappointed . From his trial lawyer.

We are truly disappointed, this is a compromise verdict, we do believe this was a 2nd degree murder.

Thankfully though, there has been no arrest or any serious violence so far.
