Music Thread for 9/10/08- Andre 3000: I Can't Save Rap

Music Thread for the day (and night)
Young Jeezy is Number one on the charts with “Recession” with 260,000 copies sold.Mediocre songs also came with it though. No answer on whether he said he would still "F---s with John McCain" like he said in a recent addition of Vibe.
New Kids on the Block making moves like that? Get out of here. Their single "Single" (funny) is making moves, and is number one on the VHI list. Go figure.
Andre 3000, one of music's true class acts, keeps it real yet again:
“I hate it, to be honest. ... I cannot save no whole rap game. I mean, the rap game has to save itself. Everybody's saving it. People like Lil Wayne is saving it. He's bringing energy to it. You cannot put that all on one man, especially me. I write a verse every year. You can't do me like that.”

And also, Three Stacks will be in the upcoming movie "Battle in Seattle" coming out next week that includes Charlize Theron, Martin Henderson, and Woody Harrison. It is directed by Stuart Townsend in his first role in that position.

Sean Combs, please stop calling yourself or anything you have “Ciroc Obama.” Please.

More cool Jonas Brothers defense. From Jordan Sparks of all "controverisal figures."
At the 2008 VMAs, Jordin Sparks had a very visceral reaction to the comments made by host Russell Brand regarding the Jonas Brothers' purity rings. While presenting an award, she paused to say, "I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everybody — guy or girl — wants to be a slut."

Kanye Westwill entitle his new album "808's and Heartbreak." The LP is slated to drop December 16.
The reaction to that title, "Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

And Twista will do this?
Next week, September 17, Twista will tape reviews at Spoon (1240 North Wells Street) in Chicago. The public event allows fans to meet and compete in various games against the rapper, and engage in review-based discussion of popular and upcoming games.

Finally, on today's "The Listen", here's Gym Class Heroes feat Dre and Lil Wayne with "Don't Tell Me It's Over."

It was a brutally bad verse from Lil Wayne, but the rest of the song is quality.

Sha-la!
