The Sleep Time and Rise "n" Shine Thread for 9/24/08- The Laughingstocks of America Part 2

The joke that just keeps on going and going and going.

From the great Amanda at TP:
As part of his plan to suspend his campaign activities, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) today decided to cancel his appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. McCain’s campaign reportedly told Letterman that the senator was “racing back to Washington.” That, however, didn’t happen. In his show to air tonight, Letterman shows footage of McCain sitting down with CBS’s Katie Couric for an interview at the same time he was supposed to be on his show. Watch it:

Will do:

Then, you won't believe why all of a sudden, McCain doesn't want to debate, from an artilce from the NY Times.
The debate on Friday was to focus on Mr. McCain’s perceived strength, foreign policy. Mr. McCain had not planned to devote large blocks of time to debate practice as did Mr. Obama, who was holing up with a tight circle of advisers at a hotel in Clearwater, Fla., on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to prepare. Mr. McCain had a preparatory session on Wednesday afternoon at the Morgan Library in Manhattan, but advisers said it had been interrupted by his decision, announced immediately afterward, to suspend his campaign.

No wonder why he was a bad student in college. He didn't like to do his homework.

It gets better though, because while McCain lied hard to Obama, Palin embarrassed herself yet again. Fast forward to the 4:30 mark (though the rest of the interview was slo popcorn theatre), with special thanks to Billary Redux
COURIC: You've said, quote, "John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business." Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?

PALIN: I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie--that, that's paramount. That's more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.

COURIC: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.

PALIN: He's also known as the maverick though. Taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about--the need to reform government.
COURIC: I'm just going to ask you one more time, not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation?

PALIN: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, laugh them off the stage. They are scared to debate, they are scared of what the polls are showing, and they are just plain frightened at how much of a bigger hole they have dug for just themselves.

They are America's laughingstock, and it is both hilarious and sad to watch at the same time.

Good night or Good morning.

Letterman:....Damn son....I wish I'd have seen that whole episode, doesn't look like he had room for anything else, he went at it Diddy style: "CAN'T STOP, WON'T STOP" uh ah uh ah.

Couric-Palin: WOOOOOW....I'm feelin soo sorry for that lady. There's NO way she prepared herself for this. She just received a huge promotion from her employer (Grand Ol Party) and she had 2 take the opportunity. There's no Rove 2 polish er up. Dub-Ya might have been as bad were it not for the constant coaching and harboring he had around him for his career.

POW!
