Music Thread for 9/9/08- Who the heck is Russell Brand?

Before the night is over, here is a quick music thread run through.
(Note, for some of you out there, you may not know some of thes artists in some of these genres talked about here in the run through)
The new I-Pod are out, and CNet's Matt Rosoff doesn't seem too impress. Now, I don't know him either, but CNET is definitely one of the better technology news websites around though.
I'm happy to hammer Microsoft when it screws up, as it did with some earlier Zunes, but I have to say that this week's Zune announcement was a lot more exciting than the iPod announcement. The hardware's nowhere near as cool--Apple's a great hardware and design company--but I'll be darned if the new Zunes don't do more when it comes to music. They're not all-in-one devices like the Touch is becoming, and Microsoft certainly doesn't have anything that can touch the iPhone, but on a pure MP3 player basis, the Zune's finally looking competitive.
Kanye West and Beyonce’ will definitely be coming out with albums coming in the fourth quarter.
Ginuwine is getting sued.
Chris Brown is actually pinning songs for Britney Spears. Spears must be oblivious to the fact that Brown can’t really pin even his own hits, let alone any of his songs. I’m just telling the truth, it is a fact, look it up. And how did they hook up, through their own mutual interaction?
Nope, just the power of the label execs.
The Jonas Brothers (though I only know about how they are loved by a lot of young girls who watch Disney and like things like High School Musical than their songs) fired back at Russell Brand (who?).
Well,sort of.
Brand took shots at the all family performing group, poking fun at the boys for their purity rings and abstinence pledges.
Good for them and a thumb up for doing something that a lot of people just don't have the courage to do, and Brand looks like a fool for even trying to make them look “uncool.” By the way, who is he again?
Sadly though, I do remember that they visited the White House when the Shrub (Bush) was there. But with stance, they still get the love for that.
After all this time, it took Solange to say she is nothing like her sister? Well, the cliché “Never too late” applies here I guess. And that the fact that her first name was said instead of along with her last name says something at least.
The stupidity of The Game continues with him still calling out Jay-Z. When this gets more attention than your album L.A.X., then damn, that is all I have to say.
And finally, though he may still do a few things backwards from time to time, nobody can say that Styles P isn't one of the realest lyricist in all of music. Literally, that is the case when you enter today's (and tonight's) "The Listen"
Sha-la!
