10/13/08- TWD's Agenda for the Day- Our First Hate Mail (And the Miss of the Year in Soccer)

You are going to love this one. We won't mention the guys email address, but this in response on Thursday to our NLCS preview written by James. This is "LMAO" type quality, with how irrational it really is:
All I needed to see that showed you were completely biased was when your "objective" review concluded that the "on the eyeball test", that the Dodgers bullpen was better than a Phillies bullpen - the best in baseball with a closer who was only the second man in history to not blow a save all year despite 40-plus saves, and had a staff bullpen ERA that was lower than L.A.s despite playing in a cracker-jack box. But you in your infinite wisdom decided this based upon one game, where Lidge DID get the save and where Lidge got two more uneventful saves in the following games that you conveniently decided not to mention.
Based upon this same "eyeball test", I have concluded that you are an idiot.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You just have to laugh at it. The benevolent mailer is referring to the section of the post by James about "who had the edge in the bullpen" going into the series. Just to keep things simple here for the non sports fans on here, Brad Lidge, the closer of the Philles, did do what the mailer said. He did not a blow a save all year . That's fine.
But James and I already knew that.
In fact, anybody that has just watched a whisker of baseball this year knows how impeccable Lidge was in the regular season. Moreover, and more importantly, this is the postseason, and the reason why James gave the Dodgers the bullpen advantage over the Philles is because Lidge has had a history of BLOWING GAMES in the postseason. The postseason is what James was clearly taking about, and it makes the tone of this individual that deliver this e-mail even more hilarious and silly.
But it gets better. Here is my response officially to this "gentleman", and for any other "hate mail" that we get for the site.
Please, feel free to come again and call us idiots any
time.
Indeed so, and finally, we probably have the miss of the year in soccer this past week. It was World Cup Qualifiers, and Scotland had a big match against Norway. A vital win at home was certainly what Scotland was looking for, and it seemed that was going to be the case when forward Chris Iwelumo came on and had a chance that even a baby would convert. Instead, it was a stunner indeed.
Stunning. Simply stunning, and it was a sick feeling for him. Scotland, instead of the win, got a tie with Norway. And already, their dreams of South Africa in 2010 look bleak.

I really feel for the guy.
